Today we're retiring Line Code. Over the next few hours it will stop being available everywhere: Line CLI, the Model API, the Console Playground, and every other Clatter Labs service. Why we're doing this Line Code didn't reach the level of quality we expect for real coding work. In day to day use it was less reliable than it needed to be, especially on longer tasks and larger edits, and that isn't the experience we want to put our name on. We also want to be honest about how it got here. We launched Line Code quickly, on a plan we hadn't studied enough. We stand behind the decision to try, but we moved faster than our own process should have allowed. That's on us, and we've learned from it. Line Code is retired for good. If we ever bring it back, it will be as a new release that has earned its place, not as a quiet return. What this means for you • Line CLI: SuperCosmos becomes the only model. No action needed. • Model API: requests to line code fast, line code ultra and line code ultra fast will stop working once the retirement completes. Switch to supercosmos flash, supercosmos max or supercosmos heavy. • Credits: your balance belongs to your account, not to a model, so it stays exactly as it is. What comes next: SuperCosmos 1.1 In the coming hours we're releasing SuperCosmos 1.1. All the compute that was serving Line Code now goes to SuperCosmos, so we can focus on one model and make it excellent. Alongside it, we're tuning usage limits across every plan so they're clearer, fairer and more predictable. Details will be on the Plans page when 1.1 ships. Thank you to everyone who tried Line Code and told us what worked and what didn't. That feedback is exactly why we're making this call. The Clatter Labs team
